Please reach out at ultimuttcutsdoggrooming@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
I serve in the Plattsmouth and Douglas areas. I hope to expand in the future with a mobile unit.
Ultimutt does not turn dogs away that have controlled medical needs. As long as the issue has been seen by a vet and is controlled, your pup will be welcomed. (ex. if your dog has a history of seizures, they should be on seizure medication)
I always like to give dogs a chance. There have been many instances where a dog was known to be aggressive, but with the right groomer, was the perfect pup. If, after a few attempts, the service cannot be completed, it will be recommended that you continue your search for a groomer that works for your pup. I do not muzzle or cage dogs, so if you know that your dog needs a muzzle, you may bring your own.
The truth is, you can never guarantee that someone will do right by your dogs. But I can guarantee that I will always treat your pup as my own. I, myself, have two beautiful girls, and I couldn't imagine how I would react if found out someone mistreated them. My dogs are my world, and so is ever other dog that I work with.
I have a wide variety of different products to work with all different coat types. De-shedding, whitening, color vibrance, deodorizing, moisturizing, and hypoallergenic. All of my bathing products are concentrates and are diluted to be safe for every pup. Any finishing sprays or conditioning sprays are hypoallergenic as well. If your pup has a history of skin allergies, please let me know so that I can ensure the right products are used and to avoid using colognes/perfumes which may be irritating for dogs with allergies.
Unfortunately, for insurance and safety reasons, owners are not allowed to be present for the groom. Dogs tend to get incredibly wiggly and crazy when they can see you. All they want is to get back to you, which makes for a very dangerous grooming environment. If requested, I can take videos at different points in the groom if that would make you more comfortable. I will post pictures of each groom to the facebook page as well.
The short answer is no. I believe that de-matting a dog to any degree is putting vanity over welfare. Matting on its own is painful and can cause skin irritation. I do not want to add more pain by trying to pull the mats out or break them apart.
I always try to give you the haircut you want. Sometimes there are things like mats that prevent us from leaving the hair longer. I will never shave a dog just because I feel like it. If you don't want a shave and your dog is mat free, then your dog will not be shaved.
I have been professionally grooming for 2 years. But I have been working on family dogs long before I started in a salon.
It is recommended that you have your dog groomed every 6 - 8 weeks on average. Dogs with higher maintenance coats may want to visit more often while dogs with shorter hair can go a bit longer between grooms. And, yes, it is recommended that ALL dogs visit a groomer.
I work one on one. This means that I only have one dog in my care at a time. Grooms, depending on coat type, size, and complexity, can take anywhere from 45 minutes to 3 1/2 hours.
My policy for cancellations is that I require a notice of at least 24 hours. If you need to cancel within 24 hours, I will require a payment of half of the groom price before you will be able to book again. Unfortunately, this policy is becoming more and more common for groomers because of constant no-shows for appointments.
Drop-off has to be within 15 minutes of your appointment time. if you are any later than 15 minutes, it will be marked as a no-show and the cancellation fee will be added. Because I work one-on-one, I don't have much room to be late. The same goes for pick-up. I will message you a predetermined amount of time (usually 15 minutes) before your pup is done. You need to be there within 15 minutes after your pup is done. I do not kennel dogs, so if your pup is still there by the time the next pup comes, I will be behind for the next dog. I'm sure if your dog was put behind by someone else, you wouldn't be thrilled either.
